Apple Pie Breakfast Smoothie

If you are like me and in a rush every morning then a simple breakfast smoothie is the way to go. I found an awesome new recipe that is simple and nutritious. Tastes like apple pie which is perfect for the fall season. I turn to this breakfast treat several times a week!

1 Large Honeycrisp or Red Delicious apple (I prefer Honeycrisp)

1 Banana

½ Cup non-fat greek yogurt

½ cup of skim milk or vanilla almond milk (I prefer almond milk)

¼ Cup of raw almonds

½ Teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 Tablespoon of raw local honey (my own twist)

Blend and enjoy! This recipe makes about a 16oz serving and packs about 450 calories with healthy doses of protein, fiber, vitamins, and heart healthy fat. If this is the sum of your breakfast then I suggest consuming the whole thing, but if not, I suggest sharing with your wife or husband like me. They’ll be sure to appreciate your thoughtfulness and the delicious smoothie!
